Spencer Contracts Ltd - Building Refurbishment & Alteration Contractors - 01371 875556

About us

Spencer Contracts Ltd have been established since 1999, and was formed by John Spencer and Dave Frater, who had worked previously together at a London based construction company for over 10 years. We relocated our offices from South Woodham Ferrers to Great Dunmow in 2008, as this gave us better road access to be able to carry out work throughout Essex, London and as far south as Brighton, where we are currently undertaking an 18 month refurbishment contract for a nationwide Housing Association.

We mainly specialise in refurbishment works and extensions and have great experience in working in occupied premises such as schools, colleges, hospitals and residential care homes. We pride ourselves on the high quality standard of work we offer the client and the on and off-site management which we consider is second to none. We believe that on-site communication is essential to a successful working relationship and therefore each large contract will have a working supervisor present. Either Dave or our surveyor will make regular site visits to oversee the works and ensure that the completion date is met.

We currently employ four office staff and seven tradesmen who will undertake plastering, demolition, excavations, carpentry, groundwork’s, general maintenance and decorations. Several of the directly employed tradesmen also worked together for the same company as John and Dave and therefore they have a working relationship that goes back over 20 years. We also have an established sub-contractor list consisting of electrical, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, glazing, steelwork including stainless steel fabrication, flooring, roofing, and tiling. All of the sub-contractors have worked for us for many years and constantly meet our high level of expectation.

We consider all types and value of work and afford the same high level of workmanship regardless of contract value.

We look forward to assisting with your next project!
